Lindsay Ellis - Stronger Every Day*

Before and After CrossFit

Another moving testimonial for Reebok CrossFit 306.

A year and a half ago I joined Reebok Crossfit 306. I decided it was time to "get in shape". This decision was hugely influenced by a co-worker Erin Book, who was already a member. I asked her tons of questions about it until I was convinced to try it and haven't looked back since.

Prior to joining this gym I hadn't exercised in over five years, the extent of my activity was walking my dogs. When I first started Crossfit I couldn't do a push-up or a squat and jogging 500m to the yield sign left me feeling like I ran a marathon! It's crazy to think of how far I've come. I vividly remember watching a class shortly after I joined, I was in absolute awe of the girls doing hand stand push-ups. It was something I thought I would never do, as I was still struggling with regular push ups. As time went on I became stronger, I remember the day I kicked up my feet to the wall without assistance and held my position upside down for about twenty seconds. I wanted to scream I was so excited! Fast when there is a work out with hand stand push ups, I can do them :) that is only one of many examples I could talk about.

If it wasn't for the great coaching, encouragement and supportive atmosphere of this gym, I know I wouldn't be where I am today. One thing is guaranteed every time I wod, I always leave feeling better.

Crossfit has positively impacted my life in so many ways, other than just physically. It has changed my perspective about what "healthy" looks like. I no longer wish to look like the skinny girl in a magazine or focus on what the bathroom scale says, it's really about feeling better. I recognize and have a strong appreciation for someone who is fit and strong, which comes in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Thank you to everyone who has coached me over the last year and a half and also the amazing people I am so fortunate to work out with.
